On March 4, 2007 I gave a talk to a group of Gawad Kalinga recipients of the Couples for Christ. The topic of the talk is "Faith and Repentance" and is one of the modules for the CFC Formation Program. The talk was in Filipino and is available for download here. I have updated the PREX Talk 2 material entitled "Who Do You Say That I Am" with a brief survey of the history of defections from the Church dating from apostolic times to around the 1970's. This brief history seeks to answer the question: "Why are there Christians who do not adhere to the supremacy of Peter?" The main answer is already given in the first letter of John: "They left us..." (1 John 2:19).

"How do you like to approach the Scriptures?"

The question may sound strange or even stupid at most, but it is the question I ask those who come to me for requests regarding "bible lessons." I ask the question to make sure what particular groups really need since the different groups have different spiritual needs that can be satisfied by a particular approach to Scriptures.

Welcome to Res Biblica!

This is an AgustinongPinoy website that takes the place of Bible Notes and The Bible Corner which for some time offered materials on Catholic Bible Apologetics and Resources that could help the bible enthusiast deepen his/her appreciation of the Scriptures.

As of the moment, AgustinongPinoy has two other bible sites, Otium Sanctum and The Bible Workshop which offer explanations of the biblical readings for the mass and provide links to resources on the web respectively. To these two, Mga Ulat Pinoy also offers blogs about the Scriptures in Filipino. A fourth website is that of The Mystical Geek which offers reflections on matters that are sometimes biblical.

"Res Biblica" is Latin for "Biblical Topic". As such this website will be complementing "Otium Sanctum" (theological), "The Mystical Geek" (spiritual), "The Bible Workshop" (practical) with something that is exegetical. There will be moments when the subject matters of "Res Biblical" and "Otium Sanctum" will cross, but that would be due more to the nature of the subject that will be dealt with.
